Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB-
The Eagles lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. The phones were a trap the Eagles kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
They will need Broughton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Ransom at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Jihaad Campbell
No edge and no loss on Jihaad Campbell in the 32nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick64
Rnd2
Elijah Arroyo
A reach on Elijah Arroyo in the 64th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick83
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
Fair-plus on Isaiah Bond, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick87
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
No drama and no debate, Darius Alexander went about where he belonged in slot 87. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick123
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cobee Bryant. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
They will replay Lathan Ransom at pick 125 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134
Rnd4
Hollin Pierce
By-the-book stuff, Hollin Pierce at pick No. 134 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick156
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 18, with Malachi Moore worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick159
Rnd5
Elijah Roberts
Elijah Roberts at Round 5, Pick 21 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick161
Rnd5
Vernon Broughton
A wild overpay on Vernon Broughton in the Round 5 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick164
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
Damien Martinez in the 164th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165
Rnd5
CJ West
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for CJ West. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick168
Rnd5
Que Robinson
Value said wait; Que Robinson in the 168th pick says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick185
Rnd6
Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin at pick No. 185 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick237
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
A straight-up fair deal on Isaac TeSlaa at No. 237, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
