Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Packers to a D-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Packers spent the Round 7 slot on Mitchell Melton, a name the board had a full 67 spots lower. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Holly makes the weekend a net positive.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get a disruptive interior force at fair value.
Pick52 Rnd2 Gennings Dunker
By-the-book stuff, Gennings Dunker at slot 52 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick84 Rnd3 Julian Neal
A tidy bit of business in the 84th pick, where Julian Neal graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick120 Rnd4 Tim Keenan III
The board had cheaper options than Tim Keenan III at pick No. 120, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick158 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A quiet steal in pick 158: Davison Igbinosun for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick199 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick206 Rnd6 Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia slipping to the 206th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236 Rnd7 Mitchell Melton
Mitchell Melton in pick No. 236 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick254 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
A premium they did not need to pay, Eric Gentry a notch or two before his time. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick257 Rnd7 Trey Holly
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Trey Holly at No. 257 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
