Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Jets answered their biggest question with Moore. Grade: B.

The Jets spent the pick that matters most on Dante Moore, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The Nelson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Zvada pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Dante Moore
In the 3rd pick they get the face of the franchise. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick32 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
In pick 32 they get a No. 1 receiver, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Arvell Reese
You do not let a linebacker like Arvell Reese reach Round 2, Pick 3 and blink. They did not. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick46 Rnd2 Tyreak Sapp
Tyreak Sapp at No. 46 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick103 Rnd4 Keith Abney II
The board fumbled Keith Abney II all the way to slot 103, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick178 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
No edge and no loss on Earnest Greene III in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick192 Rnd6 Carson Beck
Circle this one: Carson Beck at the 192nd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick205 Rnd6 Makhi Hughes
A straight-up fair deal on Makhi Hughes at pick No. 205, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick207 Rnd6 Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick239 Rnd7 DeAndre Moore Jr.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, DeAndre Moore Jr. in No. 239, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick254 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dominic Zvada. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick255 Rnd7 Malachi Nelson
Malachi Nelson in slot 255 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
