Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Browns for Lew: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Browns were there to profit. Connor Lew, the No. 69 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 139th pick.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In No. 24 they get a cornerstone up front. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Kayden McDonald
The board had Kayden McDonald higher than the Round 2 slot, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick40 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
A tidy little value on Anthony Hill Jr. in the 40th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick70 Rnd3 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at the 70th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick107 Rnd4 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. in slot 107 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick139 Rnd5 Connor Lew
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in pick 139, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick147 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Fair-plus on Kage Casey, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick204 Rnd6 Nadame Tucker
Nadame Tucker at Round 6, Pick 25 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick248 Rnd7 Will Kacmarek
They took Will Kacmarek at par in No. 248, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
