MNFtball2025 DRAFTING FOR THEVikings

Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Vikings: B-. The needs board said one thing and the Vikings did another, using pick No. 118 on Jyaire Hill while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots waited.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Clark to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
Jeremiyah Love in the Round 1 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick50
Rnd2
Bud Clark
Bud Clark at pick No. 50 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick85
Rnd3
Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol in the 85th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
Pick97
Rnd3
Jeremiah Wilson
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremiah Wilson. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jyaire Hill
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Jyaire Hill adds a cornerback and leaves quarterback, edge rusher and other spots untouched.
Pick157
Rnd5
Dane Key
They paid sticker price for Dane Key in No. 157, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick160
Rnd5
Xavier Scott
They took Xavier Scott at par in Round 5, Pick 22, which is nothing to complain about. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick177
Rnd6
J.Michael Sturdivant
J.Michael Sturdivant at slot 177 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick208
Rnd6
Rico Flores Jr.
Rico Flores Jr. at pick 208 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick231
Rnd7
James Williams
James Williams in the 231st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
