Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Lions
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Lions: B. There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Lions never got to the one that mattered most.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
Avieon Terrell at No. 17 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
They read the board right and Sonny Styles was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Pick118
Rnd4
Earl Little Jr.
Nice patience on Earl Little Jr., who had no business lasting to pick 118. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick135
Rnd4
Monroe Freeling
Monroe Freeling at Round 4, Pick 35 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick157
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
A straight-up fair deal on DeMonte Capehart at the 157th pick, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
