Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A passer of the future in Mendoza, and a B, for the Raiders.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Inniss reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. On value alone, Neal makes the weekend a net positive. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In the 2nd pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick16 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick 16 they get the heartbeat of the defense at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick36 Rnd2 Isaiah World
A reach for Isaiah World in Round 2, Pick 4; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Daylen Everette
They took Daylen Everette at par in slot 67, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick102 Rnd4 Monroe Freeling
They reached into another round for Monroe Freeling, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick117 Rnd4 Julian Neal
They will replay Julian Neal at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in the 134th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick174 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
No drama and no debate, Aaron Graves went about where he belonged in pick No. 174. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jaden Greathouse
They read the board right and Jaden Greathouse was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick185 Rnd6 Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss in the 185th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick219 Rnd7 Brandon Inniss
This one needs a full-page explanation: Brandon Inniss in the 219th pick, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
