Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
D

Sanders should have been long gone. The Rams pounced, and earned a D. Somebody in slot 235 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Rams sat still while Raheim Sanders, the No. 143 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. The math is unkind, and the D follows.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The cost of the Broughton reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will answer for taking cornerback early while wide receiver, quarterback and other spots went begging.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malaki Starks at pick 26. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick33
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
By-the-book stuff, Tyler Booker at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick70
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Darien Porter at Round 3, Pick 6 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick90
Rnd3
Colston Loveland
Steal is underselling it; Colston Loveland at the 90th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick94
Rnd3
Aeneas Peebles
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Aeneas Peebles at slot 94 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick100
Rnd3
Jermari Harris
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 100th overall pick on Jermari Harris with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots unsolved.
Pick119
Rnd4
Vernon Broughton
Vernon Broughton in pick No. 119 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick124
Rnd4
Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner in No. 124 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick125
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at Round 4, Pick 24 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick141
Rnd5
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick188
Rnd6
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. in pick 188 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick199
Rnd6
Addison West
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 199 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick200
Rnd6
Seth McLaughlin
A straight-up fair deal on Seth McLaughlin at the 200th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick235
Rnd7
Raheim Sanders
They will replay Raheim Sanders at No. 235 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
