Draft Grade — Dolphins

FutureB
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Dolphins and Golday: D. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Dolphins did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.
The Golday pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In the Round 1 slot they get a seam-stretching tight end, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick43
Rnd2
T.J. Parker
T.J. Parker in pick 43 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick60
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A safety of that caliber at No. 60 is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75
Rnd3
D'Angelo Ponds
They robbed the room for D'Angelo Ponds here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick87
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
Taking Caleb Tiernan in the 87th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick92
Rnd3
Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone in pick No. 92 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick95
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Chase Bisontis in No. 95, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jake Golday
They barely believed it either: Jake Golday still on the board at Round 4, Pick 11. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick112
Rnd4
Connor Lew
The board fumbled Connor Lew all the way to slot 112, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick125
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kaytron Allen at pick 125. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126
Rnd4
Deion Burks
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Deion Burks in the 126th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick149
Rnd5
Billy Schrauth
They read the board right and Billy Schrauth was the payoff at pick No. 149. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick150
Rnd5
Hezekiah Masses
Hezekiah Masses at the 150th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick166
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
They let Kyle Louis come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick171
Rnd5
Albert Regis
A tidy bit of business in pick 171, where Albert Regis graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick177
Rnd5
Kevin Coleman Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Kevin Coleman Jr. at slot 177 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick215
Rnd6
Keyshaun Elliott
They paid sticker price for Keyshaun Elliott in Round 6, Pick 36, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
