GoHawks007 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
D-
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureC-
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the D-. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.
If Dippre pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
They banked enough surplus on Farmer to cover a lot of smaller sins. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick18
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In the 18th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
Nothing to complain about; Grey Zabel went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick39
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III at the 39th overall pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick82
Rnd3
Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson in Round 3, Pick 18 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jeffrey Bassa
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jeffrey Bassa in pick No. 129. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick136
Rnd4
Mello Dotson
They paid sticker price for Mello Dotson in pick 136, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick137
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
Somehow Joshua Farmer was still sitting there in No. 137, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175
Rnd5
Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill slipping to the 175th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick223
Rnd7
CJ Dippre
A wild overpay on CJ Dippre in Round 7, Pick 7, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234
Rnd7
Desmond Watson
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Desmond Watson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick243
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
Taking Jordan Hancock in the 243rd overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor need, but a need all the same.
