FutureA+
Grand theft in No. 202: the Chiefs steal Robinson and grade out a B. You build a draft on nights like this. Duce Robinson had no business being available in slot 202, and the Chiefs did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
They will need Lee to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In pick 31 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick40
Rnd2
Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone in the 40th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick74
Rnd3
Max Klare
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 10, where Max Klare graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick109
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Good price on Kaytron Allen in slot 109, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick152
Rnd5
Jadarian Price
Jadarian Price in pick No. 152 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153
Rnd5
Logan Jones
Logan Jones at the 153rd pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol at No. 169 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick176
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
Nothing to complain about; Max Iheanachor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick185
Rnd6
Kevin Coleman Jr.
They read the board right and Kevin Coleman Jr. was the payoff at No. 185. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick202
Rnd6
Duce Robinson
Taking Duce Robinson in slot 202 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick219
Rnd7
Isaiah Nwokobia
They took Isaiah Nwokobia at par in the 219th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick229
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 229th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick247
Rnd7
Jerry Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Jerry Wilson at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick252
Rnd7
Kayin Lee
They jumped the gun on Kayin Lee, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
