Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall

FutureA+
The Jaguars robbed the room for Rogers. Final grade: B. The Jaguars lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Landing Rogers that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Mason Graham
Mason Graham at pick No. 8 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
Nothing to complain about; Donovan Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston is a better player than the 88th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107
Rnd4
Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson at Round 4, Pick 5 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Billy Bowman Jr. for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick126
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
The board had Smael Mondon Jr. higher than slot 126, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick140
Rnd5
Jake Majors
Value with a capital V on Jake Majors in Round 5, Pick 2, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick142
Rnd5
Mitchell Evans
They took Mitchell Evans at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick182
Rnd6
Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius in the 182nd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick194
Rnd6
Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley slid further than he should have, and pick No. 194 is lovely value for the cornerback. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick221
Rnd7
Caleb Rogers
Taking Caleb Rogers in the 221st overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
