Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

The Bengals cashed the board's mistake on Norman-Lott: A-. Thirty-one other rooms let Omarr Norman-Lott slide, and the Bengals were the ones holding the card at the 119th overall pick. Highway robbery.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, with Tyler Booker leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick49
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Nice patience on Tyler Booker, who had no business lasting to pick 49. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick81
Rnd3
Bradyn Swinson
Bradyn Swinson in slot 81 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick86
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston at Round 3, Pick 22 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick108
Rnd4
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild in the 108th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick119
Rnd4
Omarr Norman-Lott
Taking Omarr Norman-Lott in No. 119 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick125
Rnd4
Hollin Pierce
The board had cheaper options than Hollin Pierce at the 125th pick, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Mitchell Evans
No drama and no debate, Mitchell Evans went about where he belonged in pick No. 143. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick153
Rnd5
LeQuint Allen
LeQuint Allen slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the running back. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick155
Rnd5
Pat Bryant
Nothing to complain about; Pat Bryant went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick158
Rnd5
Kaimon Rucker
A tidy little value on Kaimon Rucker in the 158th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick181
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on JJ Pegues. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick193
Rnd6
CJ West
CJ West at the Round 6 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick209
Rnd6
Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse in slot 209 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
