Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
D
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureB
The Titans got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D. The rest of the league had time to spare on Micah Morris; the Titans did not wait, grabbing him 53 spots ahead at slot 212. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Muhammad falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
In the 4th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick15
Rnd1
Peter Woods
In the 15th pick they get a problem off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Malik Muhammad
You do not let a cornerback like Malik Muhammad reach pick 35 and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick49
Rnd2
Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor in No. 49 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick67
Rnd3
Makhi Hughes
Makhi Hughes at Round 3, Pick 3 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick83
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Nice patience on Connor Lew, who had no business lasting to pick No. 83. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick103
Rnd4
Sonny Styles
They robbed the room for Sonny Styles here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick104
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
They let Harold Perkins Jr. come to them and pounced at pick 104. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick181
Rnd6
Barion Brown
A straight-up fair deal on Barion Brown at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick204
Rnd6
Brandon Inniss
Nothing to complain about; Brandon Inniss went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick210
Rnd6
Da'Shawn Womack
This one needs a full-page explanation: Da'Shawn Womack in Round 6, Pick 34, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick212
Rnd6
Micah Morris
They reached a country mile for Micah Morris at the 212th overall pick, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick216
Rnd6
Ethan Onianwa
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ethan Onianwa this early at pick No. 216. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick251
Rnd7
Dasan McCullough
They jumped the gun on Dasan McCullough, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
