Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

TradesA+
FutureB
The Eagles won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+. The Eagles treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 188 on Jalen Thompson a full 53 spots early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Flores Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
They went 9 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Deontae Lawson
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Pick50
Rnd2
Nyck Harbor
Taking Nyck Harbor in the Round 2 slot is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick51
Rnd2
Max Klare
Value with a capital V on Max Klare in pick No. 51, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
Pick63
Rnd2
Michael Taaffe
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Michael Taaffe at No. 63. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick82
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
By-the-book stuff, Caleb Tiernan at pick 82 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick83
Rnd3
Mansoor Delane
Fair-plus on Mansoor Delane, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick109
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen at the 109th pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick124
Rnd4
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette slid further than he should have, and slot 124 is lovely value for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jalen Thompson
A wild overpay on Jalen Thompson in pick No. 188, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jamari Lyons
A big swing on Jamari Lyons at Round 7, Pick 10, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick233
Rnd7
Avery Johnson
They barely believed it either: Avery Johnson still on the board at the 233rd overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick237
Rnd7
Ethan Onianwa
They went early on Ethan Onianwa in the Round 7 slot, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick238
Rnd7
Raheem Anderson
Raheem Anderson at No. 238 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Pick239
Rnd7
Riley Williams
They liked Riley Williams enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 239. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick241
Rnd7
Rico Flores Jr.
They will replay Rico Flores Jr. at the 241st overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick252
Rnd7
Akheem Mesidor
The board had cheaper options than Akheem Mesidor at pick No. 252, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
