FutureA+
The Titans bet the future on Sanders. The board says D+. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Titans shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The Starks value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They will need Slater to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In No. 4 they get the arm they will build around at fair value.
Pick35
Rnd2
Nic Scourton
Nic Scourton at pick No. 35 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick56
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They robbed the room for Malaki Starks here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick69
Rnd3
Cameron Williams
By-the-book stuff, Cameron Williams at slot 69 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81
Rnd3
Darien Porter
A clean, defensible pick in pick 81 with a little surplus value in Darien Porter. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick103
Rnd4
Devin Neal
Somehow Devin Neal was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier running back value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in the 120th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick141
Rnd5
Jackson Slater
They liked Jackson Slater enough to skip the value, taking him in the 141st pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick167
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at the 167th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick178
Rnd6
Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool at pick No. 178 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick188
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick193
Rnd6
Woody Marks
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Woody Marks. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206
Rnd6
Karene Reid
Karene Reid at pick 206 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
