Draft Grade — Titans
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB-
Ward is the Titans' new face under center. Grade: D-. The Luke Kandra pick is the one that will follow the Titans into the fall. They took him 33 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Whatever Cam Ward becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In the 3rd overall pick they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau in slot 34 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick35
Rnd2
Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Morrison at the 35th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick65
Rnd3
Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick99
Rnd3
Savion Williams
A tidy little value on Savion Williams in Round 3, Pick 35, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick105
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Steal is underselling it; Andrew Mukuba at pick No. 105 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick120
Rnd4
Luke Kandra
A wild overpay on Luke Kandra in Round 4, Pick 18, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick121
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jordan Phillips at the 121st pick is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick141
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
Circle this one: Kyle McCord at pick No. 141 is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick154
Rnd5
Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin at No. 154 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick167
Rnd5
Que Robinson
Que Robinson at the Round 5 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick188
Rnd6
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
The board had cheaper options than Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at the 188th overall pick, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick219
Rnd7
Luke Lachey
A tidy bit of business in slot 219, where Luke Lachey graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick235
Rnd7
Phil Mafah
They read the board right and Phil Mafah was the payoff at pick 235. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick246
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
A slide stopped in Round 7, Pick 30, with Isaac TeSlaa worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
