FutureB-
The Giants got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D. The rest of the league had time to spare on Fadil Diggs; the Giants did not wait, grabbing him 89 spots ahead at slot 154.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Grant makes the weekend a net positive.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In pick 3 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
They will replay Nick Emmanwori at pick No. 39 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick40
Rnd2
Derrick Harmon
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Derrick Harmon at the Round 2 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jihaad Campbell in Round 2, Pick 9. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick65
Rnd3
Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at No. 65 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Donovan Jackson in the 67th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick99
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at the 99th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cam Skattebo at the Round 4 slot is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
Pick148
Rnd5
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick154
Rnd5
Fadil Diggs
A big swing on Fadil Diggs at pick No. 154, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219
Rnd7
Carson Vinson
A reach on Carson Vinson in pick 219; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick246
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
A premium they did not need to pay, Teddye Buchanan a notch or two before his time. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
