Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall F
ValueD+ NeedB TradesF FutureB
The board had answers; the Broncos had Skattebo. Grade: F.

The Broncos treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 58th overall pick on Cam Skattebo a full 53 spots early.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

The Cade Stover deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with edge rusher still staring back at them.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In the 20th overall pick they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection.
Pick58 Rnd2 Cam Skattebo
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cam Skattebo well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Pick85 Rnd3 Devin Neal
Devin Neal in Round 3, Pick 21 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick87 Rnd3 Cody Simon
Cody Simon at the Round 3 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick122 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
No edge and no loss on Cobee Bryant in No. 122; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick124 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
They jumped the gun on Malachi Moore, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim in No. 169 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick170 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
A reach for JJ Pegues in the Round 5 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick191 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
A real head-scratcher, Cam Jackson in pick 191 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick197 Rnd6 Isaac TeSlaa
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac TeSlaa in the 197th pick, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
