Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B- to prove it.

The Bills clearly saw something nobody else did in Jackson Hawes, taking him 55 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

The Parrish pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher and quarterback still on the board. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Tuten pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant is a better player than slot 30 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick56 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Trey Amos at pick 56 is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick62 Rnd2 Darius Alexander
A big swing on Darius Alexander at No. 62, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher and quarterback to take Jacob Parrish, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick132 Rnd4 Kyle Williams
A clean, defensible pick in the 132nd pick with a little surplus value in Kyle Williams. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169 Rnd5 Connor Colby
A conviction pick on Connor Colby at pick No. 169 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw at Round 5, Pick 32 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick173 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the running back. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick177 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
No edge and no loss on Jack Kiser in the 177th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jackson Hawes
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jackson Hawes this early at No. 206. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
