Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall
D
ValueA-
NeedB-

FutureB+
Grand theft in Round 4, Pick 11: the Dolphins steal Lew and grade out a D. Somebody took the Dolphins to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
Getting Lew where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Dolphins indulged a want in Neal while a need in edge rusher stayed open. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In slot 22 they get a lockdown presence outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick43
Rnd2
Arvell Reese
Steal is underselling it; Arvell Reese at No. 43 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75
Rnd3
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Circle this one: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 75th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick86
Rnd3
Lee Hunter
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the 86th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick87
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare in pick 87 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick90
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
You do not let a wide receiver like Elijah Sarratt reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick111
Rnd4
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in slot 111 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick112
Rnd4
Julian Neal
A surprising call. With edge rusher still to address, they spent No. 112 on Julian Neal, a cornerback they were not short of.
Pick123
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
The board had Kaytron Allen higher than pick No. 123, and the running back fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick149
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
Fair-plus on Beau Stephens, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick150
Rnd5
Isaiah World
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Isaiah World in the 150th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick177
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick202
Rnd6
Taylen Green
Taylen Green at the 202nd pick is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick215
Rnd6
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp at pick 215 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
