Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

The Dolphins got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D. The Logan Jones pick is the one that will follow the Dolphins into the fall. They took him 41 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. It is not that Moore is a bad player; it is that the Dolphins had louder needs to answer first.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In pick No. 18 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick28
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In slot 28 they get a green-dot type in the middle. A real need, handled.
Pick43
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dillon Thieneman at the 43rd overall pick is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick59
Rnd2
Keionte Scott
By-the-book stuff, Keionte Scott at pick 59 squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick75
Rnd3
Devin Moore
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Devin Moore while clear needs at wide receiver, interior defensive lineman and other spots sat open.
Pick87
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
A curious use of Round 3, Pick 23. Wide receiver, interior defensive lineman and other spots needed the pick; a cornerback in Daylen Everette did not.
Pick90
Rnd3
Logan Jones
A real head-scratcher, Logan Jones in slot 90 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick92
Rnd3
Caden Curry
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Caden Curry well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick111
Rnd4
Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens in Round 4, Pick 11 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick127
Rnd4
Billy Schrauth
A straight-up fair deal on Billy Schrauth at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick149
Rnd5
Keagen Trost
They liked Keagen Trost enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 149. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick227
Rnd7
Cole Payton
A conviction pick on Cole Payton at the 227th overall pick that the board grades a round light. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick244
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in pick 244 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
