Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Cisse: B+.

Somebody in pick 70 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Brandon Cisse, the No. 34 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In the 6th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Chris Brazzell II
The board had Chris Brazzell II higher than pick No. 40, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick70 Rnd3 Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse at pick 70 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick107 Rnd4 Sam Hecht
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 7 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139 Rnd5 Tim Keenan III
By-the-book stuff, Tim Keenan III at the 139th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Kage Casey
A straight-up fair deal on Kage Casey at No. 144, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick147 Rnd5 Sam Roush
Sam Roush at slot 147 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick204 Rnd6 Miller Moss
Miller Moss slid further than he should have, and slot 204 is lovely value for the quarterback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248 Rnd7 Jalen Catalon
Jalen Catalon is a better player than Round 7, Pick 32 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
