Major DRAFTING FOR THEBroncos
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Broncos

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Broncos: B-. Nobody else had Dayon Hayes anywhere near the 208th overall pick. The Broncos did, by 107 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Omarion Hampton
They liked Omarion Hampton enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 20. It fills a real need, too.
Pick51
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
They took Jayden Higgins at par in the 51st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick85
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
No drama and no debate, Andrew Mukuba went about where he belonged in pick No. 85. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick122
Rnd4
Cody Simon
Cody Simon at the Round 4 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick191
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
A straight-up fair deal on Oronde Gadsden II at slot 191, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick197
Rnd6
Hayden Conner
They left a pile of value on the table to take Hayden Conner this early at No. 197. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick208
Rnd6
Dayon Hayes
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Dayon Hayes well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
