FutureA
The Commanders got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the B-. The Commanders lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Davis makes the weekend a net positive. They are betting Coleman Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In the Round 1 slot they get a green-dot type in the middle. More want than need.
Pick63
Rnd2
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick71
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
A quiet steal in No. 71: Eli Stowers for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick127
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tacario Davis at pick No. 127 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick133
Rnd4
Kevin Coleman Jr.
They went early on Kevin Coleman Jr. in the 133rd pick, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick145
Rnd5
Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst in slot 145 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick196
Rnd6
Desmond Reid
A straight-up fair deal on Desmond Reid at Round 6, Pick 17, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick248
Rnd7
Micah Morris
Micah Morris at the 248th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick253
Rnd7
Jordan Hall
A tidy little value on Jordan Hall in Round 7, Pick 37, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
