Draft Grade — Commanders

FutureB-
The Commanders bled value on every deal, hence the D-. Somebody took the Commanders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
They will need Zuhn III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bell.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the 19th overall pick they get a green-dot type in the middle, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick50
Rnd2
Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor at pick No. 50 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick65
Rnd3
Lee Hunter
A reasonable price with a little left over, Lee Hunter in slot 65. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick71
Rnd3
Jake Golday
Nothing to complain about; Jake Golday went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick82
Rnd3
Keionte Scott
Keionte Scott slipping to pick 82 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick104
Rnd4
Skyler Bell
Skyler Bell at Round 4, Pick 4 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick119
Rnd4
Jalon Kilgore
Good price on Jalon Kilgore in the 119th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick141
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
A reach on Davison Igbinosun in No. 141; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick145
Rnd5
Albert Regis
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Albert Regis well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick185
Rnd6
Nate Boerkircher
Nate Boerkircher in pick 185 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick194
Rnd6
Ephesians Prysock
Value with a capital V on Ephesians Prysock in No. 194, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick196
Rnd6
Bud Clark
Bud Clark in Round 6, Pick 17 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick223
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trey Zuhn III. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
