Draft Grade — Cardinals

FutureA+
The Cardinals got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+. The Cardinals clearly saw something nobody else did in Bryce Foster, taking him 40 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Stewart steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
T.J. Parker
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick25
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In slot 25 they get a workhorse for the backfield at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Fernando Mendoza
Fernando Mendoza in the 40th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick58
Rnd2
A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington in No. 58 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick70
Rnd3
Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II at the 70th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick71
Rnd3
Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard in pick No. 71 lands just on the right side of the ledger. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick76
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan at slot 76 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick89
Rnd3
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
They reached into another round for Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick109
Rnd4
Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at pick 109 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick148
Rnd5
Sammy Omosigho
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Sammy Omosigho. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick188
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Bryce Foster. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick220
Rnd7
Evan Stewart
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Evan Stewart in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick224
Rnd7
Drayk Bowen
Nice patience on Drayk Bowen, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 9. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
