Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Browns and McCoy: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jermod McCoy, the No. 9 name on the board, stolen at the 248th overall pick. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

If Bisontis pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick 6 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 1 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick39 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
Nothing to complain about; Olaivavega Ioane went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70 Rnd3 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis at the 70th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jake Slaughter
They robbed the room for Jake Slaughter here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick139 Rnd5 Fernando Mendoza
Taking Fernando Mendoza in No. 139 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144 Rnd5 David Bailey
The board fumbled David Bailey all the way to the 144th pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick147 Rnd5 Jordyn Tyson
Steal is underselling it; Jordyn Tyson at Round 5, Pick 9 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick204 Rnd6 Mansoor Delane
They barely believed it either: Mansoor Delane still on the board at Round 6, Pick 25. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick248 Rnd7 Jermod McCoy
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jermod McCoy in No. 248, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
