Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Browns.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Browns left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Hemby has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Landing Reese that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
In pick 6 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese at the 24th overall pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick39 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
Fair-plus on Caleb Lomu, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
They jumped the gun on Omar Cooper Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick118 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
They took Jaeden Roberts at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick139 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at No. 139 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick144 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol in Round 5, Pick 6 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick147 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
A reach on DJ Campbell in slot 147; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
Pick155 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. in the 155th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick204 Rnd6 Luke Altmyer
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luke Altmyer at pick No. 204 is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick248 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby in Round 7, Pick 32 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
