Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureB
Tuten should have been long gone. The Falcons pounced, and earned a D. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Falcons watched Bhayshul Tuten slide 87 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, offensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value.
Pick36
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
They let Jalon Walker come to them and pounced at pick No. 36. It fills a real need, too.
Pick46
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka in No. 46 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
A reasonable price with a little left over, Andrew Mukuba in pick 88. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick94
Rnd3
Danny Stutsman
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Danny Stutsman at Round 3, Pick 30 is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118
Rnd4
Quinn Ewers
The board fumbled Quinn Ewers all the way to slot 118, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick218
Rnd7
Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley at the 218th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick221
Rnd7
JJ Pegues
They barely believed it either: JJ Pegues still on the board at the 221st pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick242
Rnd7
Bhayshul Tuten
Taking Bhayshul Tuten in slot 242 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
