Draft Grade — Raiders

FutureA-
The Raiders lost the trade table, and the D tells the story. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Raiders took Korey Foreman at the 219th overall pick, roughly 65 spots before his name belonged.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Spending an early pick on linebacker with tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.
The Allen steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Pick25
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In the Round 1 slot they get a wrecking ball inside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick26
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In the 26th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick29
Rnd1
Christen Miller
In the 29th pick they get a load in the middle at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick30
Rnd1
T.J. Parker
A reasonable price with a little left over, T.J. Parker in pick 30. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick36
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
A surprising call. With tight end still to address, they spent No. 36 on Sonny Styles, a linebacker they were not short of.
Pick49
Rnd2
Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey in the 49th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick57
Rnd2
CJ Allen
A curious use of pick 57. Tight end needed the pick; a linebacker in CJ Allen did not.
Pick60
Rnd2
Germie Bernard
They did well to land Germie Bernard in No. 60, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
Jadarian Price at the 67th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick102
Rnd4
Genesis Smith
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Genesis Smith adds a safety and leaves tight end untouched.
Pick109
Rnd4
Caden Curry
Caden Curry at Round 4, Pick 9 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick110
Rnd4
Trinidad Chambliss
By-the-book stuff, Trinidad Chambliss at pick No. 110 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117
Rnd4
Drew Allar
Drew Allar in slot 117 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick126
Rnd4
Jakobe Thomas
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went safety with Jakobe Thomas while clear needs at tight end sat open.
Pick134
Rnd4
Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah at the 134th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick165
Rnd5
Aaron Anderson
Value with a capital V on Aaron Anderson in the 165th pick, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick174
Rnd5
Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Jermaine Mathews Jr. at slot 174 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick180
Rnd6
Dane Key
Dane Key in Round 6, Pick 1 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick183
Rnd6
Thaddeus Dixon
A straight-up fair deal on Thaddeus Dixon at pick No. 183, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick194
Rnd6
Keyron Crawford
Value said wait; Keyron Crawford in pick 194 says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick219
Rnd7
Korey Foreman
Korey Foreman in the Round 7 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
