Draft Grade — Titans

TradesA+
FutureA+
The Titans won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-. The real work happened on the phones. The Titans fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Williams falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Every board in the league had Marshall Jr. lower, and that gap is the story.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III in pick No. 33 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick35
Rnd2
Mykel Williams
A tidy bit of business in the 35th overall pick, where Mykel Williams graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick45
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76
Rnd3
Shemar Turner
They jumped the gun on Shemar Turner, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick80
Rnd3
Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro at pick 80 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick94
Rnd3
Tez Johnson
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tez Johnson. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick103
Rnd4
Terrance Ferguson
They paid a round early for Terrance Ferguson in No. 103, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick117
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
Fair-plus on Cam Skattebo, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
No edge and no loss on Emery Jones Jr. in the 120th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick167
Rnd5
Jonah Monheim
A straight-up fair deal on Jonah Monheim at slot 167, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Reed in pick 188, and that is fine. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick189
Rnd6
Jason Marshall Jr.
They paid up for Jason Marshall Jr. at the Round 6 slot when waiting would have done the job. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad at No. 232 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick250
Rnd7
Cody Lindenberg
Cody Lindenberg at pick No. 250 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
