Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Rams: B.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Rams spent the 190th overall pick on Isaac TeSlaa, a name most had 43 spots down the list. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

With running back, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Warren at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick38 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69 Rnd3 Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel at No. 69 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick90 Rnd3 Chris Paul Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Chris Paul Jr. in Round 3, Pick 26. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick101 Rnd3 Jeffrey Bassa
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jeffrey Bassa at linebacker with running back, quarterback and other spots open.
Pick127 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune at the 127th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick144 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 144 with a little surplus value in Hollin Pierce. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick190 Rnd6 Isaac TeSlaa
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac TeSlaa in Round 6, Pick 14, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick195 Rnd6 Tyler Cooper
Tyler Cooper at pick No. 195 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick201 Rnd6 Upton Stout
They read the board right and Upton Stout was the payoff at the 201st pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Alijah Huzzie
A reach on Alijah Huzzie in the Round 6 slot; the board had better options right there. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
