Draft Grade — Browns

FutureA
The Browns let Price fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jadarian Price fell into Round 3, Pick 22.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Lomu lower, and that gap is the story.
The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Caleb Lomu
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Pick24
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In slot 24 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
They paid sticker price for Olaivavega Ioane in pick No. 39, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick55
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon in the 55th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick70
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in Round 3, Pick 6 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick86
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
Somehow Jadarian Price was still sitting there in No. 86, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick107
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
A straight-up fair deal on Zachariah Branch at the 107th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick139
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
No edge and no loss on Max Iheanachor in pick 139; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick144
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson in pick No. 144 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick147
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
They did well to land Kyle Louis in Round 5, Pick 9, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick202
Rnd6
De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick204
Rnd6
Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh in slot 204 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick248
Rnd7
Tony Grimes
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tony Grimes at the 248th pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
