Draft Grade — Dolphins

Hunter should have been long gone. The Dolphins pounced, and earned a D. The Dolphins lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
The Rivers pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher still on the board. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Hunter at that price is a win they earned.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In the Round 1 slot they get a seam-stretching tight end, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman in the 43rd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick75
Rnd3
Gennings Dunker
Gennings Dunker at pick 75 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
Steal is underselling it; Jadarian Price at No. 83 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick87
Rnd3
Julian Neal
They read the board right and Julian Neal was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 23. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick90
Rnd3
Lee Hunter
Taking Lee Hunter in the 90th overall pick is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick92
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick111
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Chandler Rivers in Round 4, Pick 11 leaves edge rusher for later.
Pick149
Rnd5
Isaiah World
Value with a capital V on Isaiah World in the 149th pick, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick150
Rnd5
CJ Daniels
They barely believed it either: CJ Daniels still on the board at pick No. 150. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick157
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kyle Louis at No. 157 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick171
Rnd5
Jalen Farmer
A slide stopped in slot 171, with Jalen Farmer worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick177
Rnd5
Kaleb Proctor
They did well to land Kaleb Proctor in the 177th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick211
Rnd6
Sawyer Robertson
A tidy bit of business in pick 211, where Sawyer Robertson graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
