FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Jets this weekend: C. The Jets clearly saw something nobody else did in Montravius Lloyd, taking him 427 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It nets out a thoroughly average C.
Landing Slaughter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Odafe Oweh gives the group a proven body among the projects.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
T.J. Parker
In the 13th pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick18
Rnd1
Tony Rojas
Tony Rojas in pick 18 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick38
Rnd2
Isaac Smith
They reached into another round for Isaac Smith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick47
Rnd2
Kevin Coleman Jr.
They talked themselves into Kevin Coleman Jr. at slot 47, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick78
Rnd3
Montravius Lloyd
They reached a country mile for Montravius Lloyd at the 78th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104
Rnd4
Dylan Morris
Dylan Morris at Round 4, Pick 4 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick177
Rnd5
Avieon Terrell
They robbed the room for Avieon Terrell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick194
Rnd6
John Mateer
John Mateer in No. 194 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick203
Rnd6
Bear Alexander
A big swing on Bear Alexander at Round 6, Pick 23, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick212
Rnd6
Shawn Murphy
Shawn Murphy at slot 212 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick218
Rnd7
Shamar Porter
This one needs a full-page explanation: Shamar Porter in the 218th pick, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick239
Rnd7
Dylan Lonergan
Dylan Lonergan at pick No. 239 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick254
Rnd7
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick256
Rnd7
Evan Tengesdahl
They left a pile of value on the table to take Evan Tengesdahl this early at the 256th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
