Draft Grade — Rams
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB-
Grand theft in the 196th pick: the Rams steal Rouse and grade out a B+. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Rams were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The Rouse steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Brian Thomas Jr. at pick 19 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick88
Rnd3
Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice at slot 88 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Mekhi Wingo
They took Mekhi Wingo at par in pick No. 99, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick154
Rnd5
Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick155
Rnd5
Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson in Round 5, Pick 19 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick196
Rnd6
Walter Rouse
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 196th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick209
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
Fair-plus on Josh Proctor, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick213
Rnd6
Dillon Johnson
Dillon Johnson at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick217
Rnd6
JD Bertrand
They paid sticker price for JD Bertrand in No. 217, and that is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick254
Rnd7
Kendall Milton
Kendall Milton at Round 7, Pick 34 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
