Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
C+
ValueC+

TradesC
FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Rams get a C+. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Rams did exactly that with Oluwafemi Oladejo in slot 96.
Fortune falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
If Jayden Higgins and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick64
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Good price on Jayden Higgins in the 64th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick90
Rnd3
Chris Paul Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Chris Paul Jr. at pick No. 90. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick96
Rnd3
Oluwafemi Oladejo
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Oluwafemi Oladejo well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick101
Rnd3
Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard in Round 3, Pick 37 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109
Rnd4
Tory Horton
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tory Horton. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Emery Jones Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick170
Rnd5
Chase Lundt
No edge and no loss on Chase Lundt in Round 5, Pick 32; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick177
Rnd6
O'Donnell Fortune
They robbed the room for O'Donnell Fortune here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick190
Rnd6
Jason Marshall Jr.
They paid a round early for Jason Marshall Jr. in the 190th overall pick, more than the board wanted. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick195
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Fair-plus on Jaylen Reed, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick201
Rnd6
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick 201 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202
Rnd6
Thomas Fidone II
Thomas Fidone II in pick No. 202 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
No drama and no debate, Teddye Buchanan went about where he belonged in the Round 7 slot. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
