The Jets aced the weekend. Grade: A-. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Jets never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
Starks falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Adding Christian Kirk by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Tyler Warren and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In pick 25 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Pick42
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks slipping to the 42nd pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick79
Rnd3
Kyle Kennard
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kyle Kennard in pick No. 79. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
