Jetz7373 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Chiefs. The Chiefs clearly saw something nobody else did in Tyreak Sapp, taking him 37 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
Sadiq falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
T.J. Parker
In No. 9 they get a problem off the edge, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Steal is underselling it; Kenyon Sadiq at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick74
Rnd3
Tyreak Sapp
A big swing on Tyreak Sapp at pick No. 74, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109
Rnd4
Nicholas Singleton
They let Nicholas Singleton come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 9. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick146
Rnd5
Logan Jones
No drama and no debate, Logan Jones went about where he belonged in pick 146. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick176
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
No edge and no loss on Aaron Graves in the 176th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
