Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureB-
The Falcons cashed the board's mistake on Norman-Lott: D. The phones were a trap the Falcons kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Wilson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Getting Norman-Lott where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
James Pearce Jr. at the 15th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick33
Rnd2
Shemar Stewart
The board fumbled Shemar Stewart all the way to the Round 2 slot, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
The board had Jihaad Campbell higher than pick No. 46, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick50
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at pick 50 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jaylin Noel
Nothing to complain about; Jaylin Noel went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick92
Rnd3
Omarr Norman-Lott
Circle this one: Omarr Norman-Lott at the 92nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick94
Rnd3
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at pick No. 94 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick118
Rnd4
Will Howard
Will Howard in the 118th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick218
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw slid further than he should have, and slot 218 is lovely value for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick242
Rnd7
Bilhal Kone
Nice patience on Bilhal Kone, who had no business lasting to No. 242. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
