Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

FutureA
The Dolphins turned the phones into found money: B+. The Dolphins spent real capital to be 61 picks early on Taylen Green, and the board is going to hold them to it.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Spending an early pick on cornerback with edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The Neal value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
They let Mansoor Delane come to them and pounced at pick No. 15. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick43
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon at pick 43 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick77
Rnd3
Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey at slot 77 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick79
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields in Round 3, Pick 15 lands just on the right side of the ledger. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick90
Rnd3
Julian Neal
A surprising call. With edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots still to address, they spent the Round 3 slot on Julian Neal, a cornerback they were not short of.
Pick111
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
A conviction pick on Keylan Rutledge at the 111th overall pick that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick116
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels at the 116th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125
Rnd4
Taylen Green
Taylen Green at slot 125 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick149
Rnd5
Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman at Round 5, Pick 11 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick150
Rnd5
Keagen Trost
Keagen Trost in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick227
Rnd7
Andre Fuller
No edge and no loss on Andre Fuller in the 227th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick229
Rnd7
Josh Cuevas
Josh Cuevas in pick No. 229 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick247
Rnd7
Luke Altmyer
A reasonable price with a little left over, Luke Altmyer in pick 247. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
