Scouting Report: Strengths
- A smooth mover and covers a lot of ground, working hard to mirror rushers; agile and keeps his feet moving.
- Outstanding on reach blocks, showing good initial quickness and flexibility to seal the backside. He’s a heady player who is quick to recognize and react to twists and stunts up front, and Putnam shows a good sense of timing on combo blocks.
- Finishes and doesn't quit; competitor with a positive attitude and leadership traits that coaches admire.
- has strong arms and a powerful grip, and he displays the core strength and leg drive that allow him to create movement at the line of scrimmage.
- Putnam may not be a top-end mauler, but he has some unique traits in the run game and could probably transition to a guard spot if necessary.
- Finds defenders with his hands immediately and gets feet moving to engage and sustain.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- As a pass protector, Putnam gets caught reaching and lunging when matched up against quickness.
- Often gets too high in his sets, sacrificing some of his power, and he doesn’t show great coordination between his upper and lower body when sliding back in pass protection.
- He’ll have trouble with elite quickness at the next level.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
