Draft Profile: Bio
A powerful one-cut runner out of Penn State, Kaytron Allen emerged as a key offensive weapon for the Nittany Lions over the past two seasons. The 5'11", 229-pound back from Norfolk, Virginia arrived in Happy Valley as a highly-touted 4-star recruit out of IMG Academy. Allen made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2022, rushing for 867 yards and 10 touchdowns while splitting carries with fellow freshman Nicholas Singleton.Allen built on his strong debut with an impressive sophomore campaign in 2023, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors after rushing for 902 yards and 6 touchdowns. He finished his Penn State career with 1,769 rushing yards, good for 21st all-time in program history. Allen's bruising running style and nose for the end zone helped him rack up 16 rushing touchdowns over two seasons, including a three-score performance against Indiana as a freshman that tied a Penn State freshman record.
Though he shared the backfield throughout his college career, Allen proved to be a consistent and productive runner when given opportunities. He posted four 100-yard rushing games at Penn State, including a career-high 137 yards against Michigan State in 2023. Allen's combination of power and vision allowed him to average over 5 yards per carry in both of his collegiate seasons.
