Draft Profile: Bio
Gyllenborg didn't pick up a football until his senior year at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, spending his earlier prep years focused on basketball, where he earned All-District honors as a junior. That late start made his recruitment a modest affair: a two-star rating from Rivals, a three-star from 247 Sports, and a ranking outside the top 2,000 nationally. Wyoming and Columbia were his primary options, and he chose the Cowboys.After a redshirt season in 2021 and a limited role as a sophomore in 2022, Gyllenborg began making noise in 2023. Playing all 13 games with four starts, he hauled in 23 catches for 360 yards and three touchdowns, including an 89-yard scoring strike against Hawaii that marked Wyoming's longest passing play of the season. A high ankle sprain suffered in 2024 fall camp cost him three games and slowed his return, but he still led the Cowboys in receiving yards per game at 47.2 and earned Second Team All-Mountain West honors as the conference's highest-graded tight end.
Gyllenborg finished his Wyoming career with 80 receptions for 1,023 yards and seven touchdowns across 33 games. He competed at the Senior Bowl and turned heads at the Combine, landing on the NFL's All-Combine Team at tight end.

Gyllenborg's NFL value is tied almost entirely to what he can do as a receiver and a special teams contributor. His combine testing validated what the tape already showed: this is one of the more explosive athletes at tight end in this class, a player who can threaten vertically from the slot and force safeties into one-on-one matchups they would rather avoid. In a spread-oriented offense that moves its tight end around the formation, Gyllenborg can win on seam routes and overs where his speed and acceleration create natural separation. He has the hip flexibility and footwork to develop more nuance as a route runner, though that remains a projection rather than a present skill.The blocking, though, is the issue that limits his ceiling. His run-blocking tape took a real step backward over his final two seasons, and Wyoming regularly subbed in other tight ends on running downs. At 249 pounds with 31-inch arms, he lacks the mass and length to anchor against NFL edge defenders in-line, and his technique in both the run game and pass protection needs significant work. Those limitations make it hard to envision him logging heavy snap counts early in his career.
The realistic outlook is a role-specific receiving tight end who earns his initial roster spot through special teams. If a coaching staff can scheme him into favorable matchups and protect him from extensive blocking duties, Gyllenborg's burst and size combination gives him genuine big-play potential. But the floor is narrow, and he will need to show more as a blocker to carve out a larger role.
