Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Shows toughness to get under the pads of tackles to bull them, club them upfield to get the inside lane, or fight through blocks for secondary rush when the passer steps up.
  • He’s a fluid mover in pursuit as well, capable of moving down the line and making plays in pursuit.
  • Mitchell has the kind of turn-and-run fluidity to be used in man coverage as well, able to run with tight ends and running backs.
  • He has value as an inside blitzer as well, showing the initial burst to shoot through gaps and disrupt the backfield.
  • The talent is there as a sideline-to-sideline playmaker.
  • Mitchell takes proper angles and shows impressive closing speed. He’s also outstanding in space and is one of the best coverage guys in this class.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Mitchell is on the small side, and his frame is pretty much maxed out. Despite his effort and intensity, he’ll simply get swallowed up at times.
  • Lacks pop and strength to anchor, though. Most effective when uncovered inside and chasing stretch plays to the sideline.
  • As a pass rusher, Mitchell lacks the ideal length to consistently win off the edge, even if he manages to improve his at-times sloppy hand usage.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
