After high school, McGuire joined Missouri.In 2019 as a freshman McGuire saw action in 6 games and played a total of 65 snaps for the Tigers. He recorded only 6 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 4 stops.
As a sophomore for the Tigers in 2020 McGuire played in 10 games and took part in 411 snaps for the Tigers. He recorded 10 tackles, 6 assists, while adding 9 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 12 total pressures, and 6 QB hurries, 3 QB hits, and 3 sacks during the year.

- Has a quick burst off the line and times the snap well. Good upper-body strength and length to lock-out his opponent and at least moderate lateral agility to slide inside or spill out to contain.
- Possesses the length and power to ward off offensive tackles.
- McGuire has an excellent motor and shows the stamina to last deep into the fourth quarter.
- Quick first step with fluid movements off the ball. Highly competitive and fierce, showing relentless effort to the pocket with a nonstop motor
- Naturally explosive player with decent get-off speed. Balanced through contact and stout against double-teams. Tackles through the ball. Versatile and has the body type to play many roles.
- He can dip around the edge, using quick, heavy hands effectively to ward off blockers. McGuire has outstanding range when McGuire has to chase in backside pursuit, displaying surprising range for a player his size.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- While McGuire moves well laterally, he doesn’t always get there in pursuit.
- McGuire remains a bit raw, as he is inconsistent with his hand use and lacks violence in his hands
- He struggles to shed blockers and doesn’t show ideal lateral movement skills. McGuire also needs to make better use of his length and hands in the pass rush.
