Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Plays with exceptional balance and body control, showing off a nasty spin move to counter his speed, with the natural instincts to know when to use it.
  • He’s quick to react and locate the ball, and Allen shows enough speed to succeed in backside pursuit. Allen plays with excellent balance and a strong, flexible core, rarely ending up on the ground.
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #72. He wrote, "This offseason, he clocked a 4.59 40. He also bench-pressed 415 pounds. “Brevin plays the ‘Beast End’ for us,” said Campbell head coach Mike Minter, a former Nebraska star who spent a decade playing in the NFL. “That’s who Brevin Allen is. His athletic ability and desire to be great are unmatched.”"
  • A technician with a high motor, he has a variety of moves and displays exceptionally good hand use. He shows a strong finishing burst and has the power to hold at the point of attack as a run defender.
  • Looks the part. Possesses a long, athletic build with room for additional muscle mass. Flashes a burst off the snap, good enough to cross the face of collegiate tackles and put him in position to make big plays behind the line of scrimmage.
  • Has enough twitch and speed to make an impact coming off the edge as a third-down specialist.
  • He’s an explosive mover, and he shows body control and flexibility as a pass rusher. Allen can dip and bend around the corner, and he maintains speed while he does.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Allen lacks elite traits in the pass rush and will need to develop a counter move.
  • He could stand to be more violent as a tackler in the run game, as Allen too often allows backs to run through his arm tackles. Allen also has limited experience dropping into coverage.
  • Average strength at the point. Loses the ball and lacks seasoning and attention to detail.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
