A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B.

The 49ers did not so much draft Elijah Roberts as overpay for him, 42 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Landing Mafah that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
