Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bills and Simpson: B+.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jaylin Simpson tumbling to the Bills in No. 200 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Adding Tyrann Mathieu by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Adonai Mitchell. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick60 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard in pick No. 60 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick128 Rnd4 Will Shipley
Will Shipley at pick 128 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Javon Foster
Steal is underselling it; Javon Foster at Round 5, Pick 8 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick150 Rnd5 Sataoa Laumea
They barely believed it either: Sataoa Laumea still on the board at the Round 5 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick160 Rnd5 Marcus Harris
Marcus Harris at slot 160 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick163 Rnd5 James Williams
They will replay James Williams at the 163rd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189 Rnd6 Anthony Gould
Circle this one: Anthony Gould at No. 189 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jaylin Simpson
The board fumbled Jaylin Simpson all the way to the 200th pick, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick204 Rnd6 Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent in No. 204 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
